These are Elite miniatures Westphalian figures. Peter Morby has quitely been developing a vast range. He doesn't advertise much. The figures don't get the credit they deserve.
I have so many guns knocking around that I just paint the crews these days. I have enough French, or British, or Austrian guns (each) to stretch the length of most battle tables. I am only half kidding. I have a crazy number. Most of these will do for the allies.
Here I used some Prussian guns, for the horse artillery, and Bavarian guns for the foot artillery. I don't know why it is that I feel like using the right figures for gunners but don't care about the guns. I tell myself they could be using captured guns. Such is the currency of self deception which saves my brush time and pocket.
Lace 'n Big Hats is a diary of my lead adventures. The title comes from a remark of Martin Rapier, a member of TMP. Lace 'n Big Hats aggregates historical periods such as the Lace wars, Seven years war, Napoleonic Wars etc, which had this elaborate dress as one common factor. I like the phrase so much I am thinking of using it as a name for a rule set I am working on. My historical interests are actually a bit broader, so I will be throwing in bits and pieces from WW2 and even the Modern era.

lovely figures and work....well done!
ReplyDeleterecently received my order of 28mm Napoleonic Saxon Elite Miniatures. putting together 1812 Saxon Infantry Corps. I'm looking forward working on my Saxon's later this year. I made the mistake ordering 1800 - 1809 Cavalry! :o) instead of ordering french cavalry figures... oh well ;o)
When I ordered my Elite Saxons I got the early infantry by mistake. So I know how you feel :-)
DeleteLovely work on these and good idea with the guns :)
